  • 2013 Chen Xi Hao – Gao Shan Zhai

    £18.00£150.00

This is a very thick, sweet and slightly creamy tea with some raisins and vanilla in its initial infusions. It then turns into a sweet caramel profile that reminds me of my primary school days when old ladies in the neighbourhood would tempt us with some homemade caramel candies. Whenever I really like a puer, childhood memories and flavours pop to my mind. I can’t think of a better compliment.

It has been expertly aged in Xishuangbanna for 6 years and it is a very clean tasty sheng puer with incredible stamina. You can expect 20 infusions with this tea.

This is a Spring Gushu Chen Xi Hao tea that was a collaboration between Chen Xi Hao and Zheng Si Long.

A sweet tea with a peach/pear cooling aftertaste. It also has a nice caramel-like flavour, perhaps due to its thick texture and sweetness. I really like the fact that this tea has more than one facet. The mouthfeel is a really enjoyable sweet experience and then the aftertaste brings out yet different flavours. After drinking this tea for 3 days in a row and trying to find the best way to describe it, I reached a conclusion:

    I rather like Ge Dengs!

Ge Deng Mountain lies within the six famous tea mountains. It borders Yibang, Mang Zhi and Man Zhuan. The tea is grown at an altitude of 1300 meters. Ge Deng tea is famous for its smoothness, its sweet aftertaste and powerful Qi.

  • 2008 Fangmingyuan Nannuo

    £9.00£55.35

This is one of the teas I tried at Fangmingyuan Chazhuang. This tea was once described as being feminine. After reflecting, I couldn’t agree more. It’s a deeply aromatic tea. The mouthfeel is strong and the dry fruits’ aromas felt in the nose are delicious. Some sheng can be very aromatic when young but lose much of their aroma after ageing. I don’t see that here. It’s a full-bodied powerful and aromatic tea. I am very fortunate to offer this Nannuo on our humble website.

  • 2010 Fangmingyuan 0812 – 5 years anniversary

    £3.60£39.60

This is a Menghai area production with some age already. I really enjoyed its sweet milky graininess with a slight hint of menthol and wonderful aftertaste. It’s a really nice tea and in the age of xiao bings this is a 500 grams cake.

This cake was produced to celebrate the 5-year anniversary of a Buddhist charity called Guangming caotang. 1000 cakes were produced and all were individually numbered. The bing you get has its own unique number.

  • 2003 Yuanjiutang Ban Zhang

    £7.20£81.00

Yuanjiutang company is based in Hebei where this tea was stored. The storage is dry and very clean. This is sweet, mellow and sticky tea with some raisin and caramel sweetness. If you like a warming sweet aged tea you will find this one exceptional. I also enjoy smelling the tea leaves tremendously brew after brew. Quite an experience. I think this tea is already at an amazing stage as it is. I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a nice, sweet, clean aged Sheng. I feel that this is one of the best options available anywhere for aged Sheng at this price range.

When we opened our website one of our core tenets was not to deliberately misinform our customers. We are very excited with this tea. Although we cannot confirm if indeed it’s from the Ban Zhang area, the leaf is beautiful, it’s perfectly aged and an amazing example of what an aged tea could be.

Please be aware there is no inner ticket or date stamp coming with this tea.

I hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

  • 2015 Nannuo Duo Yi Zhai

    £8.00£48.00

Duo Yi Zhai is the highest altitude puer growing village in Nannuo. This tea is a bit misterious for us. It was pressed by a farmer who didn’t really added his name or brand to the wrapper. I have witnessed this happening before in Yunnan. Farmers pressing cakes with only the year and village name on it and without much more information.

This is a very creamy tea with orange flavour notes that we really enjoy. A very sweet tea but keep the infusions short as it’s packed with intense flavour. This tea has great stamina and even flash brews will bring sweet creamy orange tastes forward over and over.

We are very happy for offering this full of flavour Gushu spring 2015 Nannuo.

This tea is currently sold out but will be back in stock.
